A whole new flat roof

After moving into our Beautiful Townhome, we discovered that there was lots of deferred maintenance.  The flat roofs over the garages had not been maintained.  Granted we live in a place that “rarely rains” but we also live in St George, utah where the sun bakes anything that is outside!

This spring, after all of our neighbors roofs leaked, Jared and I went about “re-roofing” the flat roof that goes over our unit and our “neighbor”.  The project that was suppose to take 1 long weekend turned into 6 weeks!  Working 4 of those Saturdays all day on the roof!  The other 2 saturdays we could not work on the roof due to threat of rain!

The first layer was an emulsion fabric layer with emulsion on the bottom and top!  After that dried and was near perfect… meaning water could not sneak in anywhere!  ANYWHERE!  We put on a top coat of Final Coat, that both protects the roof and helps keep down the heat!

While we were working on that project we noticed the neighbors roof was starting to collapse a little.

That is not GOOD!

So, with the help of a GOOD neighbor, we fixed the roof!

Now, we can all sleep better at night, knowing that the roof isn’t going to collapse!
