PATH- PERSONAL APPROACH TO HEALTH
Each of us take a very unique path that leads us from birth to death. The quality of life we live as we journey on that path is dependent upon our approach to health.
What is PATH?
In Jen’s world, PATH is an acronym for a Personal Approach To Health.
In the real world, a path is something you can choose you can take that will lead you to a certain destination, or through a certain location without being injured (hopefully). There are millions of paths throughout the world. A path usually has a beginning and an end. There are bike paths, or paths that take you through beautiful mountain meadows, or along a breathtaking cliffsides over looking the ocean. Most people who get on a path want to arrive at a certain destination safely and/or want to enjoy the scenery along a chosen path.
We are all on a path that will lead to death. Our bodies are designed to grow old and die. But the path we choose in regards to healthy living may determine the type of death we suffer and it will determine the quality of life we live!
When we take personal responsibility for caring for our body we are on a path towards healthy living.
One way to look at it is that our body is our personal vehicle that will take us from birth to death and how we treat and care for that vehicle will determine the quality of our life. We get to choose if we are going to maintain it regularly, constantly fuel it, change the oil, rotate the tires. However, we can also choose if we are going to neglect or abuse our vehicle. We only get one body, one personal vehicle for life. We will not be able to exchange our vehicle for a new body when it breaks down. The better we maintain our body the more joy we will experience on our unique path.
Everyone’s path is unique. We all have unique gifts and abilities. We are individuals with individual worth and individual abilities (and yes, even individual “disabilities”). Our likes and dislikes are unique. Our bodies are very unique.
However, there are very specific behaviors and principles of health we can incorporate in our life that will allow us to provide better care for our bodies and make our journey from birth to death easier, more fulfilling and more enjoyable. It is when we apply these key principles of health into our life we are more likely to fulfill our unique purpose.
Jen's PATH, or A Personal Approach to Health, is a simple step by step system that helps us incorporate new healthy behaviors into our our life. It is personal and unique, just like you are. It isn't a one program fits all, like so many of the programs that are out there. This program is designed to help people get on the path to healthy living and stay on the path.
When we are on the Path to healthy living, we recognize our personal responsibility to provide our body with constant nourishment and care and we choose to learn and apply healthy principles in our life on a daily basis.
